Glenn Lacey BSc - Chairman
Marketing & Technical Director
Glenn is the founder of ASTL and inventor of MAVIS. He started his IT career in 1975 as a Trainee Computer Operator and from there on gained significant experience in all the key IT disciplines, culminating in his Bachelor of Science Degree. Glenn’s specialist areas are Artificial Intelligence and Biometrics. He spent several years as a Freelance Consultant before focusing on his Speech Research and becoming an independent Entrepreneur and Businessman. In addition to MAVIS Glenn invented the worlds first fully integrated 3 Dimensional Digital Magnetic Sensor and in more recent years, after the tragic events of TWA800 and Swissair a system called A.R.C.M.A.S (Automatic Real Time Cable Monitoring and Analysis System) which has paved the way for the worlds first embedded cable fault detecting system. Glenn is a member of the SC37/IST44 Biometric Standards Committee and a very passionate and accomplished pilot.
Dr Jy Bhardwaj

Jy has spent the last 7 years at JDSU, where he held a number of senior management positions including CTO of Optical Communications after over 6 years of business unit leadership, including most recently, Vice President and General Manager of the Agile Optical Networks, which includes JDSU's market leading optical transport product lines. Jy joined JDSU through an acquisition of Scion Photonics, a silicon valley based optical chip start up, where he served as the CEO. Prior to Scion, Jy served as CTO at STS, a semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing company, which during his tenure, saw over 5 years of strong growth culminating in an IPO on the AIM in London at the end of 2000. Jy holds a Ph.D and B.Eng degrees from Liverpool University.
Donald J. Cestari

Don has thirty plus years of experience that spans all segments of the Aerospace Industry, Airlines, Military, Defence and major Airframe Manufacturers most notably his service as a commissioned USAF officer where he saw active service and served on Air Force One. With a wealth of experience in multi disciplines such as Marketing, Project Management, Maintenance & Engineering, Flight Operations, FAA and Military Foreign Regulatory Compliance and Certification and Legal Contracting Don is a valuable team member. A founder and current board member of Consolidated Air Support Systems, (“CASS”), who’s primary clients, are the US Government Don holds an MBA degree in Management and Finance from Southern Illinois University a JD Doctor of Law degree from the University of Tulsa and a BS degree in Management Science from St. John’s University of New York.
Dr Rich Geruson

Rich joins ASTLs Board of Directors after holding senior executive/general management positions at Nokia, IBM, Toshiba and McKinsey & Company. Most recently he was CEO of VoiceSignal, the world leader in voice-enabled mobile search and other mobile voice solutions. In less than 4 years after arriving at VoiceSignal, Rich increased shareholder value over 10-fold culminating in the sale of the business for a multiple of more than 12 times revenue. Now with a volume of over 250 million units, VoiceSignal has become the world leader in embedded voice interface solutions for mobile devices. Prior to VoiceSignal, Rich was the SVP at Nokia Mobile Phones in the Americas. In 5 years Rich grew the business 10-fold to $6.5 billion and tripled its market share. This growth catapulted Nokia to # 1 market share in both the US and in the world. At IBM, Rich was one of the youngest VP/GMs. He stimulated rapid business growth by designing, developing and launching IBM’s first distribution channels for networking products worldwide. Rich also served as a VP at Toshiba Americas, doubling market share in mobile PCs from 11% to 22%. Rich has been awarded three graduate degrees from Oxford University including a Doctorate from the Sub-faculty of Economics. He was also a member of the research faculty at Harvard Business School, where he completed the highly regarded book: A Theory of Market Strategy, published by Oxford University Press. Rich currently serves on the Boards of several technology companies as well as several Advisory Boards.
